Spend 10 days studying the process of creating life like still life paintings in oil with internationally distinguished artist Douglas Flynt in South West Florida. The workshop location is less than 10 minutes drive from beautiful Sanibel Island and Fort Myers Beach. |
This intimate workshop setting with its very limited number of participants will allow plenty of one on one time with the artist. Regular demonstrations and lectures will be accompanied by individual feedback and advice as participants work toward the completion of their own individual paintings. |

Participants will be offered an extensive look at a still life painting process which favors the classical and academic sensibilities. Explore the stages of preparatory drawing, an ébauche or under-painting, and turning form to create a finish. All the while, participants will learn about drawing strategies, color theory and paint mixing, composition, basic perspective, palette layout, and how light on form affects our perceptions of color, explained through metaphor, theory and application. |
